Boogeyman (2005)
directed by Stephen T. Kay
Tag line: You thought it was a just a story... but it's real.

summary:Set in Chicago, 'Boogeyman' tells the haunting tale of a young man traumatized by memories of terrible events he experienced in his childhood bedroom and who, years later, reluctantly returns home to face his fears of a monstrous entity that could be real or merely a figment of his imagination.

Best Quotes:
Eh...none that stood out.

Best Death:
Actually...I guess the father since that was pretty much all the violence. Did any one really die? They were "taken", which is probably just an excuse to splurge on the computer generation needed for the actual boogeyman and his kick-ass trench coat.

Biggest Cheese:
The close ups on the door knobs...continually...Nope, the doorknob is still not scary.

Truely Grotesque:
Uh...actually nothing. The death with his father was more humorous than scary (think human yo yo). I guess the Boogeyman just invited people into his closet and just never...let them go...

Monster meter:
So, the boogeyman's power is that he can jump closets and put on clothes?.... I give him a 1 out of 10, being bald helped, but...wearing a sweater-vest under the trech lost you points.

Cliche factor:
People calling people crazy and saying, "You're not making sense!" Plus the "little girl is actually dead" surprise, that was completely unsurprising.

Actual good:
1 star out of 5 - it's a horrible movie

Good is Bad:
3 1/2 stars out of five - it's campy, silly, and fun to tease.

Logic, let me introduce you to this window:
Pretty much the whole movie. It didn't make much sense.

Notes: I don't think it's a horror movie at all, but a allegorical movie about homosexuality. The whole closet thing, his father "left" his mother because of the "boogeyman". In the end he had to "face it". Hmm...I almost wish it was...It would make a hell of a lot more sense.

Still, it's amusing how hard it tries to make doorknobs and closets, including clothes, scary.

Bottom line: Good for a laugh, but not much else.
